About Dr. Roberta Kalafut
A dedicated practitioner of physical and pain medicine, Roberta Kalafut has worked with back and neck pain sufferers at SpineAbilene since 1998.
SpineAbilene was conceived by Roberta Kalafut and her husband, Edward Brandecker, as a regional center offering complete medical services, from consultation and diagnosis to treatment. Roberta Kalafut’s patients are provided access to an innovative, streamlined medical experience at SpineAbilene. The availability of specialists like Roberta Kalafut throughout a patient’s time at SpineAbilene remove many of the complications and frustrations that come with treating chronic pain.
Before coming to SpineAbilene, Roberta Kalafut was the Medical Director at Hendrick Center for Rehabilitation in Abilene. Roberta Kalafut has also filled a medical directorship at the HealthSouth Rehabilitation Center, a position she accepted after completing a dual residency at Baltimore’s Johns Hopkins and Sinai Hospitals. Roberta Kalafut received her DO from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine and her BS from Youngstown State University.
Board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in the sub-specialty of pain medicine, Roberta Kalafut also maintains affiliations with the Texas Medical Association and the Texas Medical Board.
